The first look was promising, and I was excited by the size of the large-ish box. Turns out most of it was filler...
The mystery products:
Gin Tonic Bath Salts
The Motley
4oz - $12
Inspired by the "bathtub gin" made during the prohibition era, these bath salts have a cocktail vibe. I'm somewhat intrigued by these, but the scent is really strong. Overpowering in fact. Plus, I am not much of a bath person. So, for those reasons this is off to the swap shop.
Head Massager
Kikkerland
$15
I figured this item would be off to the swap shop too, but I decided to test it out first. Much to my surprise, I actually kinda like it. It is a strange sensation but is relaxing.
Work Hard Stay Humble Decal
Vinyl Impressions
$20
Ugh. The number one item I was dreading. This is a removable wall vinyl decal that doesn't damage the wall/paint when removed. I do work hard, and do not need to be told to stay humble - thank you very much. This is off to the swap site ASAP.
Platinum Silver Nail Polish
China Glaze
0.5 fl oz - $8
My favorite item in the box. I haven't yet tried a China Glaze nail polish, so that is exciting. I probably wouldn't have picked this color on my own, but I think that it could be paired with a lot of other polishes for different mani looks.
Summary: I paid $9 for the mystery box (I had a 10% off coupon), plus $7.95 for shipping. The value of the items is $55, so paying $16.95 isn't a bad deal. However, since I really do not love any of the products - and actively dislike the most expensive - item I would consider this box a fail.
I am happy to report that I have already received an offer to swap for the bath salts and decal. Yay! Off you go!
