On to the match up!
My initial conclusion that the ipsy samples would be less high end than the samples birchbox typically sends is correct so far. Most of the ipsy products were also American, unlike my birchbox which had products from all over the globe.
What came in my birchbox?
Fekkai hair créme, 100% Pure eye and body creams, Nail Rock glitter polish, Inika eyeshadow, Ahmad Tea packets (not pictured), and inspirational cards.
What did my ipsy bag contain?
Benefit pore balm, (Malin+Goetz) lip balm, Balanced Guru body butter, Absolute! face tissues, and yaby foundation.
The winner: this is a tough one, but I am giving it to birchbox.
I really like the quality and diversity of the birchbox products. The two full sized samples (eyeshadow and nail polish) are two of my favorite types of beauty products. Plus, I loved the tea. The eye/body cream could be good; as could the hair créme. The biggest drawback of my birchbox this month is that I do not use the products as frequently as some of the ipsy ones, but the overall quality of the products are much, much better.
What almost pushed ipsy into the winner's circle is the lip balm. I use it daily and am loving it. I just couldn't get over how incredibly awful the face wipes were though. I love the smell of the body butter, but the grease/shine factor lowers it a bit in my estimation. I am not interested in the pore balm, and have no use for the foundation.
Birchbox: 1, ipsy: 0
