Inevitably Chic: July 2014

This is my second month with Inevitably Chic, an accessories box with two options: one item a month for $15 or three items for $25. I'm currently subscribed to the three item option.

I really enjoyed my first month's box and was excited for July. To the point that I was practically stalking my mail man for the box. Then I opened it and wanted to cry.

My stylist, Rikki, once again included a note:

First look:

Heart and Soul Pendant Necklace

Per Rikki, "Pendant necklaces look amazing with maxi dresses, tank tops and fitted sweaters. It is a great staple piece. It also comes with bonus earrings."

This piece is a trifecta of badness for me: gold, hearts, and beads. Oh, and I am not really a long necklace fan. This piece alone made me want to cry I was so disappointed. The "bonus" earrings don't help.

This immediately went to the swap sites and I am hoping it quickly finds a new home.

Purple Flower Cuff Bracelet

"This bracelet is incredibly light weight and comfortable. It looks great as a stand-alone or paired with others to create an arm party!"

More gold. Ugh. This bracelet is okay. My biggest complaint is that it is a little tight on my wrist, and it looks like a prom wrist corsage. Off to the swap shop!

Embellished Lace Headband

"Wear this with your hair down for a preppy look or twist it up and use this as an accent for a vintage look."

And more gold. I think this headband is cute, but honestly my head will not hold a headband. It is one of the tragedies of my life. Even if I try to anchor it with bobby pins it just slips off. I must have a weird shaped head. I'm already negotiating a swap for this item.

Summary: this month was a complete miss for me. I will definitely be providing feedback to Rikki. No all gold items being at the top of the list. I will try this box again for August, but if it's another miss I am going to have to cancel.
