Wantable Accessories: May 2014

This post is way late because I was waiting for Wantable to correct a problem before posting. More on that later.

The insert this month was nice. 

The flip side had a quote from Harry Winston.

I was excited to see that this month's box had another pair of sunglasses!

In no particular order:

Hilary Sunglasses

($17 retail value)

"The Hilary sunglasses are a staple classic shade! Style Tip: Keep these sunglasses in your car for easy access!"

I hoped for the best when I saw the sunglass pouch, and I wasn't let down. I love these shades, and the tortoiseshell is really pretty in the sun. Favorite item in the box. They are the same brand as then ones I received in last month's box: West Coast Sunglasses.

Shania Earrings

($17 retail value)

"The Shania Earrings feature a rhinestone border with pink gem stone center. Style Tip: Dress up any outfit with these gorgeous studs!"

I like the overall style of the earrings, but didn't like the multi flecks in the pink stones, and the rhinestones around the edges look cheap. Off to the swap shop.

Amy Bracelet

($29 retail value)

"The Amy Bracelet is a beautiful classic chain and circular bracelet! Style Tip: Wear this bracelet with your favorite pink manicure!"

Again, I like the overall style. I am not a big toggle close fan, and the fit is a bit tight. So, this piece is also off to the swap shop.

Skully Necklace

($21 retail value)

"The Skully Necklace is an awesome rock necklace featuring a skull and top hat. Style Tip: Wear with a solid color maxi dress!"

Besides being one of the ugliest pieces of jewelry I have ever seen, this piece arrived in two pieces. The chain separate from the pendant. Turns out both ends of the chain are too big to fit through the loop on the skull pendant.

I emailed Wantable, and they apologized and sent out a new piece. It was waiting for the piece that delayed this post. In the meantime I was able to slightly pry open the loop, slip in the chain, and clamp it shut. Voilá! Good as new, and off to the swap shop.

The replacement item arrived last week while I was at a work conference. Hence the delay. Sadly, while I would say this piece is better than the Skully Necklace, it still isn't anything I would wear.

Tiffany Necklace

($24 retail value)

Ugh. More ugly. I really don't like statement necklaces, which I guess they didn't bother to check in my profile. Off to be swapped.

Summary: I liked the sunglasses. That was the only item. I liked them so much that I didn't send the box back. Everything else was a bust. If next month isn't better I might cancel my subscription.
