Julep Maven: August 2014

Oh, Julep. You are going down hill so fast! Yet again, this month had problems. My box arrived missing an item. Whomp Whomp I have contacted Julep, but so far no response. I usually have to email them three times before they respond.

August's theme is: "The Wanderlust Collection."

This month I didn't care for any of the style profiles so I switched to "My Maven" and selected three items.

Joyce - It Girl

Joyce didn't arrive in my box. :-( I am hoping Julep can send her along soon. She was my favorite color from the collection.

Tammi - It Girl

I have no idea why I picked Tammi, except I thought most of the other colors would stain my nail. This color is a departure for me, but I think she could be fun.

Gel Eye Glider - Smoky Taupe Shimmer

Again, I was excited to try the monthly product. I went with the taupe since I have a lot of black and purple.

The mystery incentive for taking three add-ons was back this month, so of course I had to use all my spots again.

Blakely - Bombshell

I honestly do not even remember selecting this polish, but I double checked my selection confirmation email and it was there. Weird. Oh, well it is a nifty color.

Mystery polish - Bombshell

Note this title says Bombshell. One would think with that title the mystery polish would be from that style profile. One would be wrong. For the second month in a row.

Kyla - Boho Glam

So, yeah. This polish is a Boho Glam. Again, WTF Julep?! I specifically chose this add-on because it was listed as Bombshell. I really dislike glitter and orange, let alone orange glitter. Off to be swapped this goes.

In my email to Julep about my missing Joyce, I included a screen shot of the Bombshell description and mentioned it was the same issue last month.

Shusmita - Classic with a Twist

This was my favorite polish released this month, and of course, it was an add-on only. Love the silk and satin finishes!

The mystery bonus for using all three add-ons was not polish this month.

I need an eye primer, so this was a win for me. Sadly, the spoilers online showed others were receiving two of these. I only got one, but they did send two of the bonus notes...

No candy this month, instead Julep sent a screen cleaner to drum up interest in their mobile app.

I have downloaded their app - twice - and am really disappointed that you cannot shop or purchase through it. It is only for the maven selection window and to read the blog. Plus, whenever the selection window had always opened late on the app. Pass.
