March's theme is: "The Riviera Collection."
This month I switched up my profile and went with Boho Glam, which offered two polishes and a lip gloss.
Elisa
"Soft wisteria shimmer"
$14/$11.20 maven
I think Elisa is so, so pretty. A perfect Spring/Easter pastel. She is the color that sold me on the Boho Glam profile, and will pair well with the other polish in the set.
Harriet
"Guava coral crème"
$14/$11.20 maven
I probably would never have picked Harriet on her own. I think she is a pretty color, but I don't tend to wear a lot of orange. That said, I am happy to have her in my ever expanding Julep collection and look forward to a spring mani featuring both Harriet and Elisa.
Julep Lip Gloss - Fearless
"Sheer silvery pink shimmer, with Power Cell Complex™"
$16
So far I am very pleased with Fearless. There is some definite shimmer and it was exactly the shade of pink I was hoping for. I have read some not so great comments about previous Julep lip glosses. Tales of breaking bottles and a gloss explosion in people's pursues. I am hoping none of those horror stories come to pass. The lip gloss is a good size, and has a faint aroma of cotton candy.
Polish obsessed as I am, I had to add-on some more. Julep limits the number of add-ons to three. Which is probably for the best, at least for my poor abused monthly budget.
Lizanne - It Girl
"Sea green shimmer"
$14/$11.20 maven
($4.99 as an add-on)
Lizanne was my favorite of the It Girl profile, and I found her lovely green shimmer too hard to resist. Which is strange since I am not normally a green fan. Yet, Roc Solid was the army green polish I loved last month. Hmm. I guess I am going to the green side. Actually Lizanne is more teal in person, but she does have a great shimmer. I can't wait to test her out!
Monaco - Bombshell
"Pantone® 2014 Color of Spring, a dazzling mariner blue crème"
$14/$11.20 maven
($4.99 as an add-on)
Monaco reminded me a bit of Octavia, the dark blue from last month's Classic with a Twist box that I am still coveting. Plus, I've been to Monaco and couldn't resist having the namesake polish. This blue is gorgeous and could be the start of some fun spring nautical nails.
Rae - Classic with a Twist
"Pantone® 2014 Color of the Year, a radiant orchid crème"
$14/$11.20 maven
($4.99 as an add-on)
Rae is a fun, pretty color and as the Pantone color of the year I couldn't pass her up. That, and something about the silver cap makes the polish feel extra special. How could I say no?!
This month's bonus item was candy. Cute idea, but meh. I would rather have a nail file or something useful. Or another free polish. Hint, hint Julep!
This month's coupon codes are 35% the new luxery lipcare duo and 25% off another lip gloss. I think I will be passing on both.
Summary: this month's box contained five polishes and a lip gloss. I paid $19.99 for the monthly subscription and another $14.97 for the add-ons. A grand total of $38.28 (including $3.32 in tax). The polish is a $70 value ($56 at maven pricing), plus another $16 for the lip gloss. With an $86 total value, I paid less than half the total value of the box. Good deal! I also love the quote card this month.
